Entries must meet the requirements of one of our sponsored categories:

Pieced – All sizes with the exception of miniature, made and quilted by one person.
Appliqué –All sizes with the exception of miniature, made and quilted by one person.
Group Quilt – Any quilt made by more than two people.
Pieced Duo Quilt – Any quilt made & quilted by two persons. This includes quilts that were quilted by professional longarm machine quilters.
Appliqué Duo Quilt – Any quilt made & quilted by two persons.This includes quilts that were quilted by professional longarm machine quilters.

Miniature Quilt – 24” thru 96” perimeter measurement. Must be a scaled down version of a larger pattern; no one block patterns.
Innovative/Art Techniques – Entrant’s own design or original interpretation; examples for this category will also include whole cloth quilts, yo-yo quilts, embroidered and/or heavily embellished quilts, crazy quilts, cathedral window quilts, stenciling, painting & trapunto.
All Quilts are eligible for Best of Show.

A category will be eligible for monetary awards when there are 12 or more entries. If a category has less then 12 entries, it will still be judged and ribbons only will be awarded. Monetary Awards will be placed in the envelope with your judge’s comments form. This envelope will be given to you when you pick up your quilt on Sunday at Quilt Pick-up after the show, if your entry was mailed in your check will be returned with your Quilt in the same manner that it arrived for judging.

Entry Rules
1. Entries exhibited in the Broward County area in the year 2010 –2011 are not eligible for judging.
2. You must complete a separate entry form for each quilt that you are entering. Incomplete entries will not be accepted. Each quilt must have a label permanently affixed to the back of the quilt for the purposes of anonymity in the judging process, please cover this label by whip-stitching a fabric panel over this information so that the identity of the maker is concealed. Quilt must be fitted with a 4” hanging sleeve no more than 90” from the bottom. This rule will be strictly enforced.
3. No “Cheater Cloths” or pre-printed panel quilts will be accepted.
4. No ribbons or awards may be displayed on your entry unless awarded at Quilt Show By The Sea.
5. Entries must be received in a cloth white pillowcase, and this casing must be permanently marked with the entrant’s name, address and telephone number. Entry due dates are March 9th & 10th, 2012. If the entry will be shipped, it is strongly suggested that the entry and its casing be enclosed in plastic before being boxed for shipping. Be sure to remove all old shipping labels from your carton. Please do not use foam or cellulose "peanuts". Your entry will be returned in its original box. A pre-paid shipping label and insurance from UPS ground is the responsibility of the entrant. If not enclosed your quilt will be held for pick up. Be advised that QSBTS will use only UPS ground to return entries. Send parcels to: Quilt Show By The Sea * c/o Once Upon A Quilt * 3404 Griffin Road * Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33312.
6. If the quilt is to be picked up by or return shipped to a person other than the one listed on this form, the show management must be informed in writing as an addendum to this entry form.
7. Quilt Show By The Sea reserves the right to refuse to hang any quilt that exhibits poor quality construction, that has been misrepresented by the photograph, is soiled or stained, or does not adhere to the size restrictions.
8. The non-refundable fee for each judged entry is $13.00 per entry form. The non-refundable fee for each exhibit only entry is $7.00 per entry form. Please make check or money order payable to Quilt Show By The Sea. For entries from outside the United States, an international money order (in US Funds) is required. Exhibit Only entries (non-judged) must be completely finished, clean and undamaged.
9.Taxes, if applicable, are the winners’ responsibility.
