Workshop Information

  1. You must arrive at all workshops at 8:30 am for registration.  You must have your workshop registration confirmation documents present at registration.
     
  2. All workshops  will begin promptly at 9:00 am and will end approximately 4:00 pm  Half day workshop will end approximately 1:00 pm.
     
  3. Workshops  will break for a 1 hour lunch ( time at the teacher’s discretion ). We recommend that you bring a non-perishable lunch so that you may visit the Vendor Mall or view the beautiful quilts on display.
     
  4. Full day workshops are $75.00 and Half day workshop is $45.00.
     
  5. Workshop fee does not include admission to the show.  If you register for two classes you will pay for only one day's admission.  
     
  6. QSBTS will not provide sewing machines.  Workshops that require the use of a sewing machine will be the responsibility of the registrant to bring their own sewing machine.

Texture and Form

Nature is an endless source of beauty and inspiration.  With this in mind, learn how to get rid of “flat appliqué”. Students will learn to create using machine techniques.

Feathers, Corners, Borders & Blocks

WS # 103SS  Sewing Machine Required

This class teaches the student how to quilt borders corners and blocks. I show how to make feathers fit in all sizes of borders. There is a secret to making the feathers flow evenly and smoothly and I will show you how. I will show you how to make feathers fit in block areas and how to fill the spaces in your quilts.

Paint  offers endless opportunities for creating special effects on fabric. Learn how to add color and give the illusion of  shape, shadow and form to a flat surface.

Cotton Boll-Machine Applique

Cotton Ball - Machine Applique This class will teach you how to use appliqué foundation paper to create the lovely look of hand appliqué; all appliqué is done by machine.  This class is designed for the average quilter that wants to move onto a higher more precise level of work. Every quilter will love this class. If you have loved appliqué but were afraid to try with this technique or this level you can achieve the most beautiful appliqué ever.

Workshops Sunday March 18th 2012

 

Basic Freeform Feathers

This class teaches the student how to free motion quilt four basic shapes. After the student has practiced the shapes we will put them together to create a meandering feather, and other quilting patterns without having to mark your top.
